Nigeria'a Outdoor Advertising Regulatory bodies, others for Africa Sign Expo Conference 2015 20 May 2015

As preparations for the 2015 edition of Africa Sign Expo Conference 2015 gathers traction, Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), organizer of the event, is enlisting the support of outdoor advertising regulatory bodies and associations.

They comprise: Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), Federation European Publicite Exterieur (FEPE) and industry regulatory bodies across Africa and states of the federation. These include: Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), Cross River State Signage and Advertisement Agency (CRISSAA), Bauchi State Signage and Advertisement Management Agency (BASSAMA), Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), Ogun State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OGSAA) and Edo State Advert Management.

LASAA is enlisting their support with a view to give the event the desired impetus and pave the way for a robust content and engagement. Underscoring the rationale for seeking the participation of outdoor media regulatory bodies, Mr. George Noah, Managing Director, LASAA, explained: “The basis for conceiving Africa Sign Expo is to create an enabling platform to chart a new path and forge a common front for the growth of out-of-home advertising in Africa.

“To achieve this, the roles of partnerships and strategic alliances with organizations that share very similar interests and objectives cannot be overemphasized as they play a key role in formulating policies and agendas that shape the industry across the continent.”

He added: “Moreover, the active participation of these bodies – such as: OAAN, OARAN, Federation European Publicite Exterieur (FEPE) and regulators from other African countries, including: Cameroon and Kenya, in the maiden edition, in no small way, contributed to its overall success. In this regard, enlisting their support for Africa Sign Expo 2015, would build on the gains recorded at the maiden edition and set a robust agenda for this year’s event.”

Held between June 25th-27th, 2014, at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the maiden Africa Sign Expo Conference attracted over 4,000 individuals and stakeholders across segments in outdoor adverting. They comprised: industry regulators, professional bodies, installers, outdoor vendors, media buying agencies, fabricators, board owners, branding/communications companies, brand managers, consultants and students of mass communication across tertiary institutions.
