Cocacola Nigeria Puts Media Business Up for Pitch

Cocacola Nigeria has placed its multi-million Naira media planning and buying business on pitch putting the incumbent, Universal McCann on its toes as the agency struggles to defend its oldest and perhaps biggest account.

Lined up for a shot at the prestigious business are media agencies: Carat Media Perspectives, Capital Media, Starcom Media and Mediashare. The four agencies will be contesting for the account with Universal McCann the agency that has managed the planning and buying for the multi-national advertiser for over a decade.

This is not the first time the client is looking out as a couple of attempts were made in the last five years to how things are done elsewhere, outside of their long standing romance with the McCann agency network. In all of the attempts the search never went beyond credentials presentation and the business has always remained in Universal McCann.
