Sharpening Advertising Creative Skills: 6-10 July.

 

The School of Media & Communication of the Pan African University is organizing a workshop to practically address the absence of Nigerian advertising work from global awards such as Cannes, CLIO and Adage.

Objective: The core objective of this workshop is to sharpen the creative skills of middle to senior level copywriters, visualizers and other creative artistes, including Radio/TV production executives, so that their performance could be comparable to that of their counterparts in Europe and America who win international creative awards.

The Programme: An intensive 5-day workshop, consisting of: Lectures, Discussions, Critiques, Case Studies, Syndicate Work. Some of the areas to be covered include Creativity in Advertising, Role of Creative Strategy, Creating Great Print Ads, Media Ethics, Global Ad Awards, Critique of LAIF Award Winners, Discussion of Cannes Award Winners, Live Experience & Discourse and Interaction with award winning Australian creative and ECD of Insight Grey, Jamie McTavish.

The Faculty: Speakers at the workshop include: Chris Doghudje (Chairman of APCON), Prof. Albert Alos (VC of the Pan African University), Prof. Emevwo Biakolo (Dean of the School of Media & Communication), Jamie McTavish (Creative Director, Insight Grey), Chris Ogbechie (Member of Faculty, LBS), Ike Emeagwali (Member of Faculty, LBS), Gbemi Sagay (CEO Shops).

Target & Participation: The programme is targeted at Art Directors, Client Service Directors, Marketing Directors, Directors in PR Organizations and Departments, Middle to Senior Copywriters, Visualizers and Graphic Artists, Radio/TV/Film Producers, Middle to Senior Brand/Product/Marketing Managers, Client Service Managers and Executives.

Fee: N185,000 per participant
