Beyond Football: Sponsorship Seminar, 14 October.

Connect Marketing, Nigeria's pioneer sponsorship management and marketing company is set hold the 2009 edition of its sponsorship industry thought leadership seminar. With the theme "Beyond Footbal" the programme is the second in a series of annual seminars which kicked off in 2008. Last year the seminar examined the issue of Sponsorship ROI.

According to Tunji Adeyinka, the company's CEO "Over the years, brands have crowded around football as a sponsorship platform, almost with an assumption that all Nigerians are passionate about football. We believe that there are several opportunities that different brands are missing by not taking a look at other sports and their follower-ship and also at other platforms that may not even be sport. Also, we believe that the managers of the non-football platforms have a lot of work to do to get attention and patronage from companies".

The programme will feature tested professionals from around the world including Steven McCarthy, CEO and Chairman, Alem International, USA, an international sports consulting company with experience in the Olympic movement; Joe Hundah: Managing Director, DSTV Nigeria; Shola Lawson, CEO of PGAN; as well as Tunji Adeyinka of Connect Marketing

The seminar takes place on Wednesday, 14th October, 2009 at the Agip Hall of the Muson Centre in Lagos beginning from 9am.
